We would rather hold too little data than too much. Below is what Food Storage Box actually collects and what happens to it, in line with the DPDP Act 2023.
The data we ask for
- To fulfil your order: Name and address to write on the label, pincode to route it, phone so the agent can reach you, email so we can confirm.
- Payment confirmation: We store the payment reference and the value, never the credentials, which are entered in your own app.
- Messages you send: Whatever you choose to put in the message, plus any photographs you attach to a return or damage claim. We keep these with the order so the next person to read it has the context.
- Automatic technical data: Routine log entries such as IP address, browser and requested page. They help us keep the site online and block abusive traffic.
Our limits
- We do not sell your details, and we do not rent or trade them.
- We do not add you to a marketing list because you placed an order.
- We do not carry third-party advertising tags that follow you elsewhere.
- We neither ask for nor store identity proofs.
The short list of others
Three parties, and no more. The courier receives your name, address and phone number so the parcel can be delivered. Our web host stores the site and its database. Our email provider carries the messages between us. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Beyond that, we disclose information only where the law obliges us to, and we will tell you if that ever happens unless we are forbidden from doing so.
Retention
Records tied to an invoice are held for the statutory term. Support history and server logs have much shorter lives.
What you can ask us to do
You may request a copy of your data, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete what we are free to delete. The DPDP Act 2023 underpins this; shop@foodstoragebox.shop is the address to use.
We may need to confirm you are who you say you are before acting on a request, which usually means replying from the email address the order was placed with.
What cookies do here
